Effects of Suppressing  OsCRY1a Gene Expression on Rice Agronomic Traits

抑制水稻隐花色素基因OsCRY1a表达对水稻农艺性状的影响

Abstract: Using primers designed according to the published sequence of   OsCRY1a gene,  part of the gene fragment  was obtained by PCR and  a RNAi expression vector  was constructed. The vector was then introduced into rice,  leading to the downregulation  of the expression level and lossoffunction of the gene. Based on the performance of the transgenic plants, the functions of OsCRY1a was analyzed and deduced. The results indicated that suppressing the expression of OsCRY1a    retarded  flowering for 16 d  with    the plant height and grain length significantly increased   while  other important agronomic traits    remained unchanged  apparently.

摘要: 利用已公布的OsCRY1a基因的序列设计引物,扩增部分基因片段,构建RNAi植物表达载体并转化水稻,导致该基因表达水平下降和功能缺失。根据转基因植株重要农艺性状的表现,分析该基因的功能。结果表明,抑制OsCRY1a基因的表达,水稻开花期推迟16 d,株高和粒长明显增加,而其他重要农艺性状如剑叶长、宽和穗长等无明显变化。
