Evaluation of Hybrid Rice Combinations for Resistance to Sitotroga cerealella Olivier in Stored Grain

杂交稻在贮藏期间对麦蛾抗性的研究

Abstract: This paper deals with the resistance of hybrid rice to Angoumois grain moth (AGM), Sitotroga cerealella. Three tested treatments, 3 pairs of adults, 100 or 200 eggs of AGM which infested separately 5g sample of seeds with 4 replications were used in experiment. The moisture content of seeds was adjusted to 13%. After infestation, the samples were stored in constant environment at 27℃ and 75% R. H., and observed on different resistant parameters, including the percentage of aduIts emerged, development period, susceptibility index and percentage of grain loss. The results showed that the resistances of each variety were on the same level in three treatments tested. Highly significant positive correlation (P<0.001) existed between grain loss and percentage of adults emerged, and also existed between grain loss and susceptibility index. A negative correlation between grain loss and development period was distinctly significant (P<0.01). No correlation belween gram loss and adult weight, or between grain loss and sex ratio was observed. Since the treatment of infestation with 100 eggs may save the amount of seeds and insects tested, and also can be used to exactly evaluate the resistance in different seasons, thus this treatment has been applied to screen the resistance of hybrid rice. Of the 38 hyrid rice combinations tested, one exhibited resistant and eight moderately resistant. The results indicated the susceptibility of hybrid rice was generally higher than the regular rice variety.

摘要: 为了鉴定稻谷在贮藏期间对麦蛾的抗性,应用了三种处理方法,即每5克含水量为l3%的稻谷分别接人麦蛾成虫3对、卵100或200粒,设4个重复;置于27℃和相对湿度75%的环境中。比较各抗性指标,证实三种处理获得的抗性级别在同一稻种中是一致的。稻谷损失率与成虫羽化率, 或与敏感度系敷呈极显著的正相关;而与发育历期呈很显著的负相关。成虫体重和性比与损失率的相关性不显著。应用接100粒卵的方法测定抗性,在不同季节可得到相同的级别。采用这个方法,测定了38个杂交稻稻,结果表明抗级的仅有1个组合,中抗的有8个; 而且杂交稻的感虫比例明显地高于常规稻。
