Effects of Water Temperature on Male Sterility of the Thermo-Sensitive Genie Male Sterile (TGMS) Rice Lines under the Simulated Low Air Temperature Conditions Appeared Occasionally in High Summer

模拟盛夏低气温条件下水温对水稻温敏不育系育性的影响

Abstract: Under the simulated air temperature conditions (daily mean temperature 22. 5℃ or 23. 0℃) appeared occasionally in high summer, eight TGMS rice lines were treated with warm water (28. 6℃, 26. 8 C and 24. 0℃) to study the male sterility. The results indicated that the warm water, the temperature of which was higher than the critical temperature of TGMS lines, was able to keep the male sterility of TGMS lines stable under the conditions of low air temperature which was below the critical temperature. The results of this study provided theoretic basis for applying warm water as an effective measure to prevent the negative effects from low air temperature appeared occasionally in summer in hybrid seed production.

摘要: 在模拟盛夏低气温的条件下(日平均温度22.5或23.0℃),研究了8个温敏不育系在28.6、26.8和24.0℃处理时的不育性。结果表明高于温敏不育系临界温度的温水,可以保持温敏不育系的雄性不育性稳定。为利用水温作为一个有效手段防止盛夏低温引起的负效应提供了理论基础。
