Abstract: Antibacterial peptide from the silkworm, Bombyx mori was isolated to be applied in disease-resistance in rice. Five different races of rice blight pathogen (Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae) were tested in antibacterial inhibition disc, which showed an efficient inhibition of growth of rice blight pathogen. Injection of these small peptides into rice stem also moderated the development of rice blight to a certain extent.
